The recently published book of poetry SPIRITS OF THE TEXAS REVOLUTION will be celebrated in an event at 2:00 on Thursday, November 14 at Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus, and
YOU ARE INVITED!!
Author Betsy Wagner will share some of her original rhymes. The book is an abbreviated account of events recorded by those who liberated Texas from Mexico in 1836. Illustrator Susan Walrath Pape will also be present for signing and conversation. Betsy and Sue have created what some have described as “distinctive, entertaining and emotional.”
The cover is another magnificent painting by Ken Turner, depicting Sam Houston and Augustine B. Hardin handing off the announcements of Texas’ Declaration of Independence to the couriers leaving from Independence Hall in Washington, Texas.
Signed books will be available to round-out your Christmas shopping or to enjoy on your own coffee table. If your library needs are already met, just come to enjoy the melodic stanzas drawn from the history of our state.
